Research in organic chemistry, especially partially hydrogenated
nitrogen and sulfur containing heterocycles: dihydro- and tetrahydropyridine-2-thiones,
3-thiazolydenepyridin-2-ones, thieno-, thiazino-, thiazolopyridines; studies of their
chemical, physical-chemical and biological properties. Investigation of Michael reaction,
reactivity of Michael adducts, heterocyclization, multi-component one-pot synthesis,
biomimetic reactions. Search for new pharmaceutically important agents having
antioxidative, hepatoprotective, cardiovascular and neurotropic properties; structure
activity relationship.
